  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am constantly keeping busy in the office and at home, learning and using all the knowledge that I am taught by both my qualification team and the company itself. I never have to just sit around as even through I haven't been here long I have my own responsibilities and its freeing. The hybrid working is one of the best oarts about working for a company like this, as with hcools you couldnt miss a day there would be punishment's even if things were out of your hands but with Barclays you can work at home and you don't need to stress especially in times like these when trains are striking and putting a hold on the transport of working people. The apprentice has helped me massively with my confidence in the office and at home , not only confidence but in myself I have become happier too!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt so much thanks to Barclays not just skills that will help me in my job but also so many life skills, like I mentioned previously my confidence has sky rocketed and now I dot feel so nervous about talking on calls or talking to new people, I have the ability to talk to whoever and this has massively assisted my social skills. My communication in relationships outside of work have also becomes much better due to us being taught communication skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I used to hate getting up early and getting ready for school, efven my part time job at the weekends I would dread and be as slow as possible getting up, late nights because I was stressed over school. But now that I work at a company like Barclays I don't find myself not wanting to get up or not waiting to go to sleep. I used to laugh at my mum too for going to bed so early but due to this job I am excited for an early night so that I can be the best version of myself.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There so many different acronyms that you need to learn but the best thing about that is the immense amount of help and assistance that you get when working for Barclays, if you have nay issues there are so many places where you can go for the help that you need, in support groups or in HR, even in the people that work here they're so friendly and want to help. At the start I was nervous about how I was going to get all the work do e that the apprenticeship would give me and the work that is set my line manager but lib e managers aren't just threw to be your boss but there there to make your life and worm load as easy as possible and that the main difference with Barclays and any other organization that I have worked for

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • So much support I think that i picked up on this on an earlier questions but you don't have that 'one' assigned person to help you out , but you could go and talk tot anyone who works at Barclays and they would be more than happy to help you out, the same as line managers they only have the best in the minds for you and so talking to them is such a nice feeling as they are friends not just managers

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The apprentice has helped me massively with my confidence in the office and at home , not only confidence but in myself I have become happier too! thanks to the calls that we have attend with multiverse we spend a lot of time going over skills that we need to learn and how to implement these skills in your job and your everyday life. I have also learnt that life is short from people on the apprentice calls we are taught to get to know people and that's what most people regret taking life to seriously, not to say that you shouldn't take you job or school as a joke but that you shouldn't care what people think and that was one of the main things that have allowed me ot become more confident

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have only taken part in a few these during work times and lunch times I have attended a few of these meet ups and they always are so much fun, not due to the people that have organized it but the people that show up are always down to have a good time and they are always wanting to joke about or laugh out loud and have a good time, due to them being so relaxed it makes it much amore comfortable time and for me to relax which is nice every so often at work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Its fun and so much better than going to school and getting stuck in debt or stress or even ill from being stressed, for me I have always wanted to be able to move out and start my life travelling as well as that but the job helps you massively getting your foot in the door and starting your career in the future which is technology! I cant fault it due to the amount for help and assistance in everything that you get without having to ask also.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • To be yourself! Not to get stressed (which is easy saying) but when you get stressed or nervous you can almost change your whole personality to sort of conform into what the normal 'hiring' people want you to be, because they love to embrace everyone and so be yourself be proud of that and don't hid anything about yourself! Because diversity is such a big thing here to celebrate and not judge so don't judge yourself or compare yourself.
