  • It involves, markups on drawings on CAD, CIVIL3D and Revit for manholes shafts and site layouts with the occasional maths which isn’t too challenging

  • Developed a lot of people skills and how to properly communicate with professionals

  • On a scale of 1-10 I’d say I enjoy it at a 7, some days could be better and some days are very good

  • The program does and doesn’t have a structure, apart from university I take most the control at work. What I put in is what I get out

  • I receive as much as I ask for to an extent. For example they can’t do my work but they can help me complete it

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Minimal, as I go to university the support there is low unless I’m in a tutorial lecture

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • At the moment it has little impact as the area of engineering I work in is water and waste water treatment, my course is civil engineering in general

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As I’m still very new I have not joined any yet, however I am a STEM ambassador which does provide networking

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The are a very prestigious company so to have a 5 year apprenticeship with them behind your back really sets you apart from the rest


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WSP?
  • Be yourself, don’t overthink it, they want to see personality and not a robot
