I am in the FI Major Accounts team, in my role I act as a support staff to the brokers on my team helping with client work daily, Contracts, meetings, correspondance. I spend a lot of time shadowing the brokers in my team, gaining first hand experience for my future,
I have learnt many new skills, majority of which based around the systems and applications I use on a day to day basis. As well as developing skills, such as communication, time management, focus, microsoft office skills , interpersonal, teamwork, determination, self-management, and developed skills based on the crucial wtw values
I really enjoy my programme. The support I am given from my team at work is extraordinary, everyone offers their help and guidance. I enjoy the work I have to do, the clients I interact with, and the life style of the job. I would not change a thing here.
The programme is well structured. There are many planned out sessions throughout the apprentice ship, for apprentice-manager catch ups, apprentice catch ups, revision sessions etc. However there could be better planned out revision for the apprentice's 20% on the job learning, as it is unstructured and doesnt always happen.
I have received lots of support from my employer. The company has a very strong foundation and helps in every way it can, with supporting the learning side of the apprenticeship, as well as providing financial support with learning materials that us apprentices have found are not provided by provider.
We receive a good amount of support, with regular tutoring sessions, planned out resources with lots of material to assist us with our own revision. However the revision sessions could be better with more planning for whole course revision rather than focussuing on 3 chapters out of the 10 chapters.
My qualification helps massively, and I see it through my increasing knowledge of the insurance industry. While we study I am learning more about the industry through my work, and they are going hand in hand, as I am understanding the qualification more while being able to apply my qualification knowledge onto my job role.
There are many professional networking events, such as the mentor and buddy schemes to help us s apprentices, as well as the young professionals network, which bring together us younger professionals at the company to socialise and meet. In terms of social activities WTW have a number of teams in sports, and I have joined the Lloyd's Market Rugby team, supported by my company.

WTW is an industry leader, with a focus on its employees and a commitment to helping us in every way it can. The support for apprentices is incredible, especially when you hear stories of other company's and the way other apprentices can be treated. As an apprentice you are treated like a part of the team, with real responsibilities, making you feel like you matter.
When opportunities to get involved with things come up, take them. Nothing is too small, people take notice of everything, especially at WTW, no one is out of reach and the higher ups take notice of lots of small details. Keep on top of your responsibilities as it is easy to get dragged under and not keep track and become swamped.
