  • Supporting vulnerable adults and their families in the community to live as independently as possible with support and live their 'best life' (social inclusion/equipment provision/charitable support/benefits and financial support/carer support/hospital admission avoidance/prevention and falls reduction)

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills and this has enhanced my confidence, I have recently led a team with a new concept in changing the way we deliver support within adult social care and been able to apply learnt models and theories to underpin professional practice .

  • Really enjoy the new learning and refreshing knowledge and skills.   • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised and structures, can set myself weekly tasks and able to reflect on work experiences and how to utilise within course criteria. Due to demands of work pressures am able to adapt self study which also works really well for me. Have a objectives too.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Due to demands of the team my manager is always very busy but have been very well supported from the learning and development team and colleagues across the whole team.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is always really good, answers any questions and takes calls whenever needed, feel very well supported. Often have queries on meeting criteria and 'does this apply' etc and Kelly is always keen to make sure I am including all aspects of my role and new responsibilities.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Feel more confident, able to apply models and theories which is really good when leading a team, especially with new projects. I have refreshed own knowledge and skills and have saved many many resources to support my personal development in the future.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not really, occasional gathering for small team mates. Some professional networking events, I have attended more of these events as feel more confident and knowledgeable from training/learning.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BCP council to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BCP is going through many changes and expanding and I am hopeful that these changes will change the face of care and support for the community. Very enthusiastic person and want ot be part of the development and would encourage others to join an innovative ,caring authority.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BCP council?
  • Do your research, look at the demographics and local area. Read the job description well and utilise the information given. BCP is expanding and encourages people to grow, lots of training and learning opportunities and really supportive colleagues. Be at the forefront of change and join a great authority.
