  • I am in a project management role within the Networks Services area of BT. This involves delivering projects for live TV and sporting events, ensuring connectivity from the grounds to viewers at home.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Team and communication skills is a massive part of my role and has definitely developed since joining in 2019. I have also learned how to balance my work load, with managing both operational work day-to-day alongside my university assignments.

  • Very much enjoy my programme due to the brilliant apprentice network that is present at BT.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is organised with set days aside to carry out university work, allowing me to plan ahead of assignment deadlines.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • BT is extremely supportive of their apprentices, as we are surrounded by industry experts who are always willing to provide extra support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support depends on the module we are working towards due to our module lectures changing each time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • We have carried out modules at university that directly align with my role (e.g. project management) and so this has been beneficial in developing my knowledge.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are many. The apprentice network itself is very social and often take part in apprentice events such as careers fairs or networking events.

  • Yes

  • BT is constantly developing and growing. They hugely value their early careers employees, with the opportunity to gain experience in a range of different teams and roles, making it a great place to kickstart your career.

  • Be yourself and be personable.
