  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My Work is clearly structured as and my working hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday. 1/5 of this time should be dedicated to my apprenticeship learning which can be studying for exams or other tasks such as updating coursework or learning logs. Personally, I use this time when best fit and block out time in my calendar, but this may vary depending on how your manager or team wants to manage your time

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I have received from my employer has been brilliant. As someone who has come into an industry with 0 experience and very little knowledge, there has not been an occasion where a colleague has not been able to help. This not only being my manager but other people around the business. My employer has also put on face to face events with other apprentices and professionals to give further support and learning to us.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As of now I have passed my 1st exam and am working towards my 2nd. My training provider provide online workshops to help us cover the content of each chapter in the books. These have been very useful. We have also recently been assigned skills coaches where we have catch ups on how the apprenticeship is going and if we need any assistance in an area.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification I am working for towards is a diploma in Insurance so I have found that the content so far has been able to apply to my on the job responsibilities. There are many links in the knowledge I have gained and the knowledge I need to do the best job I can on a day to day basis. Although, sometimes the work I do will need to be taught and explained as it is best to be learnt practically.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have taken part in networking events with other apprentices, which would usually consist of us meeting face to face in our London office and taking part in a specific training session. In my local team, we have team buffets every fortnight and plan to have more social activities out of work as well as our Xmas Parties!
