  • I have no current day to day responsibilities. I am left to my own devices and have no tasks I need to complete throughout my day other than occasional menial tasks (Setting up monitors, building desks etc)

  • I have learnt a lot of new skills in the software development area which will be vital for my future career

  • I wish I had more work to do on a day to day basis occasionally

  • The program seems to change every few weeks and we are left in the dark about a lot of decisions that could affect our future within the company (rotations, teams available)

  • If it wasn't for my line manager going above and beyond I feel like I would have little support from the rest of the company. Although they do provide us with resources if required

  • The university provides a lot of support with my studies and are always contactable if needed

  • My current role is not related to my qualification at all but I know in the future it will be

  • There are a lot of extra-curricular activites although I don't frequently take part

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Although my personal experience hasn't been too great, I'm well aware of the great opportunities and experiences my colleagues and classmates have had here, my experience came down to luck of the draw and getting put in a home area not totally suited to my qualification


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • For my area in particular there is a heavy focus on automation and teamwork
