  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • Through the course of 4 days, there was a large range of meetings and discussions in terms of what law is and how to apply. I found the information presented very useful for my future in university and employment, due to expert knowledge being presented over the course.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I developed my teamwork skills, as group tasks were frequent and reinforced by breaking into chat rooms. This also created communication between my fellow students, and I therefore have grown in confidence since the programme. Also, independent work was common, and I developed my creative and analytical skills as a result.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience. The employees at Pinsent Masons were extremely helpful and polite, they gave great advice, and I learned new information about university and my future employment options. I liked the group exercises and sharing my ideas with others. I appreciate the amount of effort that has gone into making the programme as beneficial as possible, and I would highly recommend to anyone.

  • Extremely well organised. The timing and effort applied was very impressive, and the standard of presentation delivered was impeccable. This is an experience that I will remember and carry with me through into university and future employment.

  • The programme clearly demonstrated that Pinsent Masons value teamwork and are extremely supportive of one another. The firm seem very close to their values, making them very respectable.

  • The experience confirmed to me what my path would look like, in terms of university, traineeships and employment. The programme has made me more eager to study law, as hearing and seeing what solicitors do on a daily basis has motivated for my future studies.

  • Yes - the group tasks and networking lunches were a way to socialise and get to know other students in the same position as myself.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a fantastic experience to all, as it dives deep into the key areas of different types of law, teaches how to apply and also what interviewers look for. These are all key skills required for future employment, it is a welcoming atmosphere, and everybody is extremely sportive of one another. The firm seems very closely orientated and this gives a sense of a safe and developing place to work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • Showcase all your skills and do not under-sell yourself. Any experience has transferrable skills, and these are important to mention in every application you put forward.
