  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • Attending teams calls where we listened to trainees and solicitors about different aspects of Pinsent Masons and doing a few interactive tasks

    6/10

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • Not much, much of the information provided about joining the legal profession were things I already knew

    5/10

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • It was interesting, and something good to talk about. I enjoyed the sessions where we were reading through a lease/ piece of legislation the most

    6/10

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • The sessions were fully planned out and there were few, if any, technical problems

    8/10

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • Pinsent Masons seems like an inclusive place to work, but not much about the culture because a lot of the people we heard from were junior so we couldn't get a full understanding of the comapny

    7/10

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • I had already decided I wanted to do law before the course so it hasn't influenced my decisions much other than I now think I would rather be a barrister than a solicitor.

    5/10

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • no. The work experience scheme wasn't paid, but I wasn't expecting it to be paid

    1/10

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Very little. We aren't allowed to connect with the trainees or solicitors online and there wasn't much interaction between the people doing the work experience

    2/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It seems like a friendly place, less stressful than some of the magic circle firms

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • Take time to fill in the application but it doesn't need to be perfect, just talk about things you are interested in
