  • work in the warehouse as well as the counter and receiving goods in as well as selling goods to the customers and making sure that orders are picked ready for delivery and put away items that come in from central supplier

  • I have learn the art of communication with customers over the phone and face to face and have developed into a person that can and will help someone when at work solve their problems within regards to plumbing and heating

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • after being behind on work after 6 months and was ready to give up and try again in the future, but i preserved and completed the programme with the help of speaking with my apprenticeship coach and my colleagues believing in me to get it done

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well organised and coordinated outstanding to make it easier for the apprentices to understand what we are learning and how to go about taking on the challenge and bettering our knowledge within the business

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Amazing support, i was ready to give up after getting behind after 6 months on the course but my manager and colleagues as well as my apprenticeship coach having 1 to 1 meetings to go through my work and catch up and then following the support throughout the course

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Outstanding support from the training team and was having 1 on 1 sessions with my coach to get me to where i needed to be to be able to get my qualifications and i could not have asked for a better person for the support

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It will show that i am willing to progress through the business and learn more within the company as i go through my career

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • as a whole there is not any extra curricular activities that i have been made aware of but as a branch we do have our staff/customer dinners and get together as a branch at the end of the year for christmas party

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a company i never would have thought to have worked for as i was on the tools myself and never had an interest in it but being with the company for 3 years and the help and support i have had to get me where i am today is incredible


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Travis Perkins Plc?
  • Be yourself, be truthful, if you are struggling with something then to make others aware so they can help you with the problem and be very communicative as it is a skill that you will either develop as you go along or one that you will get better at with this job
