  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • I found it very helpful, especially the insight day and the entry to law session. The tasks that we were given to complete were also enjoyable and helped to gain an idea of what a solicitor really does. Everyone was very nice and helpful, and I look forward to more opportunities from Pinsent Masons.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I developed some presentation skills, some more debating skills, as well as attention to detail from things such as the lease task. I found the tasks to be very helpful in displaying the skills that a solicitor requires and uses everyday and I know what skills to work on to make myself more attractive to a law company such as Pinsent Masons.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I very much enjoyed my experience it was very informative and a great help in deciding what I want to do in the future, as it also helped me realise more that there are many paths to take to get into law and it has helped me decide what paths I might like to take.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • It was very well organised there was nothing about it that I thought could have been improved it ran very smoothly and nothing went wrong. All the presentations and tasks were well laid out and easy to follow, and I feel like the presentation and organisation very much helped in gaining the most from the experience.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • I learnt a lot, I learnt a lot about what they do as a company and their morals and the many different paths to take to get into it, as well as all the diversity and help the company offers. It seems like it would be a very enjoyable place to work.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It has helped a lot as I know now that there are many ways to get into law and what paths I may want to take, as I can go a way that keeps my career options open until I am completely certain about what it is I want to do.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was not paid at all however there was nothing to be reimbursed for. I was however given a lunch and all the time that was spent in this work experience was well spent so even time-wise there was nothing to reimburse as it was all worth it and very helpful.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • There was, there was supervisor talks, as well as networking lunches and on the insight day I got to talk to other students as well as employees and it was a very friendly environment. Everyone had very helpful information that I feel I can use well that will aid in my future decisions.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it seems like an enjoyable work environment, with many nice people and good company morals that does meaningful work. Their insight day was helpful in seeing what a real law office is like and seeing how people interact and go about their day. It seems like a good and well-respected company that I would like to work for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • I would suggest to have something to make yourself stand out, as well as work hard to get good grades and have things that can show case your skills that make it clear that you are well suited to the job and the company. They really have something for everyone.
