  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I’ve developed many skills since completing my nvq. I’ve learnt to deal with challenging behaviours in a much positive and calmer way. Have learnt more about my role and what support I can give others when it’s needed. Learnt how to speak to residents and families in a professional manner

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed this learning about the different things I’ve done throughout my role. I’ve also learnt where I’ve needed extra support and where I can gather the support. I have been able to look more in depth of my role and work better with others where needed

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been very organised and clear set dates. I have had support where needed and I know where to go if I am unsure. The structure has been thought out and as the months have progressed the work has shown this. It’s also shown my knowledge and skills

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a great amount of support from my employer. I’ve been able to ask various members of staff and nurses for support where needed and have been able to complete parts of my nvq during my shifts and have had policies and procedures readily available to me

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

She’s always replied to messages and emails very quickly. She has been positive throughout out and I’ve enjoyed our teams meetings as been unable to meet gave to face.   • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel I’ve learned so much through completing this nvq. I’ve learnt different techniques to maintain good working relationships with professionals and other staff. I’ve learnt effective communication with residents and have learnt how to manage challenging behaviours. I’ve also learnt more about the policies and procedures which protects staff and and residents.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Due to working nights I have been unable to attend social activities but in the past I have attended garden parties. There was a charity walk and another currently being discussed. There has been staff appreciation days aswell as gifts given from management to their staff to say thank you

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The skills I’ve learnt since completing the modules from my nvq have helped me become more confident in my role. It’s taught me how to work better with others. I would recommend to anyone who have doubts as it’s a great way to learn more and become more confident in their roles.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Care UK Limited?
  • Research the company and look at their values. They are a great company and have staff and residents are the forefront of their minds. They have been supportive and caring when they took our home. The staff are friendly and kind and the management is supportive of all aspects of the role
