  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At Accenture there are a wide range of roles available to you, there are hundreds to choose from and thats why on a day to day basis you will always find new things to challenge yourself with and learn. At Accenture there is also a huge emphasis on community and that's why throughout the day you can join in with activities in the office or online, for example recently we had a Mario Kart Tournament for charity.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • YES! Here at Accenture everything you could ever dream of learning is available to you via their own learning portal and other sites and sources such as Pluralsight. Accenture will also provide you with funding to get training courses and certificates they may not offer or know about which is something that I have found really great.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy life at Accenture, every day there is something new to discover and there are always new people to meet. There is a huge feeling of inclusion on the programme as although I am an apprentice there are no barriers and I have the same opportunities as someone who isnt an apprentice.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has a great structure and the content that is delivered is great and relevant to modern technologies, the work that is introduced in the course is also useful in the role that you take on. However, there were delays in starting the qualification and this lead to a lot of work being made to a poor standard, as well the communication between the company and the organization running the apprenticeship is poor at most times.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As an apprentice you receive great amounts of support from the university and also the employer, they offer people to talk to, extra courses run by employees at Accenture, the management is always available no matter your level within the company, you get assigned a buddy who is someone from the previous year who will answer any questions, and a people lead who is someone who looks after you and your career at Accenture.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The university provide support for most things however there have times where they have left it til last minute to provide us with support, the course however is great and the lecturers that I have had are brilliant. Both are really able to teach their own studies and have a great passion for them so any questions that you bring to them are answered. The university has also provided training videos outside of our learning time to help us with course work that is due.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The course at university has been created with Accenture in mind and the sectors of work that you have the opportunity to work in are all covered within the course. This is because the course is broken up in a way where there a plenty of modules to learn that are beneficial to everyday work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At Accenture there is a great push for community and thats why there is always something going on, there are sports teams to join, charity/community days to use this is something that I have taken part in where we have helped the local nature reserve with tree planting and litter picking, there are other things like quizzes where you can win reward points and more recently there has been a big push for in office events.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Accenture is a great company that offers a once in a lifetime experience for someone looking to gain a great qualification and also the experience with one of the most amazing companies to work for, every one I tell about the things I do in my job and the events that happen say that it is unbelievable how one company can be so supportive.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Be yourself and even if you arent a very technical person still give it a go, Accenture don't look for apprentices who have tonnes of experience but they do look for those who have a passion and commitment to change and the future of technology. Even if you don't get it this time who's to say you wont the next time you apply.
