  • 1. Please give an overview of what your virtual experience involved:
  • Each day at the virtual event was fresh and completely new, everything was kept interesting as it was very easy to interact using the chat functions and microphone. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to find out personal queries that I had wanted to ask real trainees, solicitors and barristers, which was useful in helping me decide what route I wanted to pursue in the legal profession.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your virtual experience?
  • Some skills I developed during my time with Pinsent Maisons would include: communication, people skills, debating skills, problem solving skills and many more. This was through a series of tasks, that were fun and enjoyable, like debating whether a “Jaffa cake” is a cake or a biscuit and also being able to experience networking during lunch breaks.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your virtual experience?
  • My virtual Experience is one I will cherish as it helped me decide on which route I would like to devote myself towards, due to being able to ask questions I was worried about. I also received assistance on interview and CV tips which is extremely useful as I’ll be in a position where that’s essential. I also loved going deeper into different parts of law such as: environmental and contract law; where we done practical examples of both to practise skills that had to be used in both cases.

  • Being in smaller rooms with people pursuing/achieved what I have been considering allowed for me to ask questions that were on mind like: type of work they do weekly, studying at university and their own personal path on becoming what they are today. All of which helped me get a clearer idea of what i was going to do next

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • This is an experience where u had to interview and apply for, its an opportunity to get a deeper understanding for the Legal profession which would’ve been silly to pass over for someone aspiring to join the legal industry as a career. I wasn’t paid with any payment but i was paid in experience and the knowledge of the industry
