  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my role at Sage, I work on a lot of content creation for the blog and create social copy for the social team, as well as working very closely on our Sound Advice Podcast and the promotion of this. I work on a range of platform management tasks too.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my time so far, I have hugely developed my presentational skills, as I have presented to both the wider team, and the other apprentices. I have also learnt how to interview as a new skill, as I had the opportunity to interview some entrepreneurs for a piece of content I wrote. Due to the nature of my role, I am also consistently improving on my writing and editing skills, which was something I really wanted to do.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme because I work with the best team, they are all so supportive and have really helped me to develop my skills and learn so much! The work I do is always varied and I have a lot of creative freedom with the tasks I do, no two days are the same, which I love.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been incredibly structured from day one. There has been a constant support system, with ongoing training and meetings. The divide between work and study is very well balanced, so it has been easy to juggle the two and manage my time effectively. I never feel as though I don't know what to do or who to turn to for support.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive so much support from my employer, they have been so accommodating to my studies, allowing me to fit it into my schedule when it best suits me and taking a real interest in what I am studying. My employer is always happy to integrate my studies into work and has been extremely supportive throughout.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has been very supportive! My tutor and I have monthly meetings to discuss my progress and the next tasks I need to work on. He has been great at adjusting my study tasks to reflect my role and things I am currently working on, so there is always a clear link between my role and my studies. The training provider has a range of additional resources I can use and has given me many support contacts.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I can clearly see the link between my work role and my studies, as there is always an overlap between the two. Everything I have studied so far, I have used or have already been doing at work and it has helped me to improve my skills and techniques. My course is giving me a deeper understanding of the wider industry.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always extra-curricular activities to get involved in, we have had a few team outings which have been great to meet everyone in person and really get to know one another. We also have a great volunteering programme, which means we can always sign up to help our local community with other employees.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Sage to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would definitely recommend Sage to a friend because this is by far the best role I have ever had and the best company I have ever worked for. Every day is new and exciting and the environment I work in is very supportive and safe. I love the culture and everyone I work with.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • The assessment day will be a lot of fun! It sounds daunting and intimidating, but I promise that its a great opportunity and you will enjoy the tasks you are set! It is not meant to be scary or catch you out, it's a great way to meet people you could be working with in your role/wider team. So just be yourself, have fun and ask lots of questions!
