  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At the moment in my placement typically I do project work. This can be a variety of things depending on the project. In my current project I am spending most of my time in meetings and testing. In my previous project I was creating digital artefacts and performing project management obligations

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many skills over the course of both my years at university and my year in placement. I have taken part in many new modules and learned a variety of programming languages at university. I have learned how to use other software at work through project work and training days at work

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme very much as it gives me an opportunity to learn at university and experience the university life but also gives me a chance to work in real projects and get further experience in technology consulting in the real world. Furthermore the programme has offered a chance in meeting a variety of people

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that the programme is very well organised. The split between only working during the summers and the year placement and having the university semesters just to carry our student work makes it a lot easier, as well as enabling for breaks between the two which is very welcome.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer from having regular sessions during my time at university, to regular meetings with both a member from the recruitment team and my tutor at university. I have a great support network with a buddy and a career coach, two senior staff that I am able to connect with when I require assistance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a tutor that I am able to go to for support. All module leaders are available for any questions or further help with coursework and studying. I will have an advisor for the final year for my dissertation. Everyone is very happy to help with any queries and any issues

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification through my training provider help me adjust to high pressure and new situations. I also believe the technical skills, problem solving skills and team-working skills that I have gained through my training provider overall helps me perform better in my role and excel in my industry

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are several extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. There are team days, social events dedicated to projects. There are social and professional networking events for Technology Degree Apprentices specifically where we are able to network with other people currently working for the employer and discuss various roles.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend PwC to a friend because the experience gained in the work environment, from networking to technical skills gained are very valuable. Furthermore, people at PwC and the whole environment is very friendly and it enables me to communicate with many others in the company. The support system is very good as well.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • I would advise to research the company and ensure that there is a career that you are interested in, if so I would recommend to apply to enter PwC through one of the many various ways that they have and do it with an open mind because there is such as wide variety of work at PwC make sure to try different lines of work.
