1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is a telecommunications engineer for openreach, I get given multiple jobs to complete a day, this involves working on the copper network and fibre optic installations.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have learn a lot about copper wires, the faults and how they work and I’ve learnt many handy skills while installing fibre like drilling, cleating climbing ladders/poles

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the work that I do, every day if different and I’m learning new skills everyday

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

My company is very well organised and there is plenty of support in place to help me out at anytime. I have frequent reviews with assessors to see my progress

I get lots of support whenever I need it, plenty of numbers to call for help

I get frequent reviews from assessors and help in place when I need it

The qualification I will be receiving will help me in the future as well to show that I am skilled in the job that I do. I’m learning new skills all the time

There are social events for work which I do enjoy.

The company is a great company to work for and I would highly suggest anyone to apply and try it out, there’s lots of benefits in my company that helps.

Make sure your up for working hard everyday and don’t expect it to be the the same every job as there all different
