  • creating working pieces on lathes mills and by hand fitting whilst learning a variety of new skills

  • i have learnt to use large machiney to safety regulations and i have also learnt alot about tolerances and specifications in work

  • i truely enjoy my work life i have a supportive network of colleuges who have become freinds over time

  • the structure of the program is a very well thought out process and is planned to work with the staff and allow the best support system possible

  • my employer is very supportive and ensures that i have all the means neccesary to have a great work experience and a effective learning experience

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the whole apprenticeship is funded fully by my employer and they are always striving to give us the best experience possible

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the training provided give the confidence that before i didnt have this means the work i produces gets better and better i believe that this makes me a better machinist and allows me to work to a better standard and if im preforming to a better standard then my work is at a better standard and thats what the company wants

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • the company does occasional group outings which allows the work group to have chance to bond and create links through the people at work whilst not feeling to socially awkward or like its a work based enviroment. the employer sent us to green parks which is an outdoor activity centre where we had to work on bonds and begin to trust people and start developing professional and work relationships

  • Yes

  • the environment awe create is super friendly and allows everyone to be comfortable in the work place this means that employees actually want to come to work and when they are here they work to there best potential. the work force at awe strives to have the best work force and end products produced this inspires each member off staff to work to the best standard they can


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AWE?
  • when applying be honest and open minded and ensure that you are willing to learn and take different methods of teaching on board as no two instructors teach the same
