Have an open mind towards the new people you will be with as a lot of them are in or have been in the same position as yourself so they know how your feeling one way or another. When in the role be prepared for long days if learning continues to take place in oxford as its not a simple 9-5 as commuting can add some considerable time to yoru day and to strongly encourage car sharing to make life a bit easier.
