  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The course content is intense but I have learnt so much. The lectures and workshops are very helpful and academics give you the time to think about how you can apply the skills and theory to your current role which I find really helpful. The on campus lectures also allow me to network with other like-minded individuals.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that the programme is very structured, everything I need is found in a module on blackboard and academics are always on hand if you need any help. The workshops are every few months and you are assigned a degree apprenticeship coach that meets with you every term to make sure you are on track.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a huge amount of help getting back into studying by my employer. They have referred me to helpful departments such as the library, the learning development centre and the student support team. I have monthly catch ups with my line manager to see how she can support me further.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that this qualification has allowed me to understand the functionalities of other departments of the organisation and it has also allowed me to improve my skills and knowledge in business management. I have applied many theories I have learnt on the MBA to my current role and this knowledge has helped me create some of my best work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have attended a workshop at the Aston Villa Football ground, we were then given a tour of the grounds on our lunch as well. The MBA team also put on a summer BBQ as a network event and Christmas drinks on campus, I attended the Christmas event and found it really nice to network with others studying on the same course.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aston University to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • This company has helped me build my professional and personal skill-set. Through the MBA I have been given the opportunity to apply new skills I have learnt to new projects and campaigns. The company is very supportive and understands why investing in your staff is so important. I would definitely recommend this company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aston University?
  • I would suggest to not only research the role but the department as everyone's role in each department links up. The organisation has a very nice culture so be yourself and let you shine through your CV. It's not always about what's on your CV as skills can be learnt but how you will fit into a team and the organisation.
