  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a strategy insight and data analyst. I work for the collections department where i review/improve the strategy for dealing with customers who have missed their payments or are dealing with financial stress. I produce regular reporting on the performance of our strategy and the call agents who deal with those customers. I also help implement new methods of communication with our customers and help with project management .

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills, specifically with I.T packages. My department heavily uses Microsoft SQL, which is something i had zero experience with before starting my role. I now am able to work with SQL and product data, which i later analyse using Microsoft excel. My excel skills are continuously developing as i use/learn more advanced formulas. I have also developed my project management skills by actively being involved in the business projects my department have and have even began working on my own individual projects.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised. The apprenticeship provider has set out times frames and goal objectives that i find are fair while still challenging. My organisation also allocates me enough time to complete my coursework and regularly checks in with my progress. I have regular 1-2-1's with my assessor, which helps me to keep on track or discuss any concerns i have.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is a business administration qualification. I feel this is an accurate and relevant qualification for the job role i have. It helps me with understanding how my organisation functions as a business and encourages me to use my learnings in my practice. For example, my qualification teaches me about stakeholders which we communicate with regularly in my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are an abundance of extra activities for me to get involved in within my organisation. I am only halfway through my apprenticeship and i have already joined two internal teams within my organisation.
