  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job at PwC involves working as a data analyst and scientist for the digital marketing team. On a daily basis I build automation solution together with my team, while also mantaining previous built models. To do so, I use a variety of technology tools that the firm provides in order to get the best outcomes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of skills during my placement year, esepcially because the degree is computer science and I have a lot of data related tasks. There are many tools used firmwide that I've been upskilled in. Even so, I feel like I learnt a lot of new skills, but haven't developed what I learnt in university that much.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am very pleased with my programme, because it acts like a bridge between the programming and the business world. By having a variety of work experience included in this programme, I got the chance to experience being part of a big organisation and to develop my soft skills on a daily basis at work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme is structured well. In university we had frequent contact hours with the firm in which we have been presented the variety of teams and their roles in the big picture. The placement is structured in such a way, that one can try different teams in order to understand the difference and where one feels best.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifcation is very generous in the amount of skills we learn as apprenctices, A very useful thing we learn is the concept of translating a task in whichever tech tool we have availabe or have to use. This is due the variety of tools we had to use in our qualifcation and gets converted very well into my daily job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a big variety of events such as social activities, acting activities and even sports events. Even so, I only took part in social events so far, where I had the chance to meet new people, expand my network and enjoy a pleasant meal. • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The firm has a healthy culture in my opinion and provides a very good career start. This is due to the amount of work experience you get before finishing the degree, but also due to the networking you build around you and the qualification you end up with when you finish.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • My advice is researching the firm, by finding out what our values, culture and services are like. After this first step, start thinking of the ways yours skills or previous experience and personality resonate with the firm. It's normal to feel nervous during the assessment days and interview, but just know that everyone here is friendly and you are encouraged to be your best self.
