  • yes. i have learnt how to successfully manage my team and make sure my colleagues are all on track and i am able to help them if they need me, and get them out of trouble if they’re in it. i have learnt a lot about how a business works and what i can do to apply that to my job now.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • initially i found the induction process really interesting. my advisor made me feel really comfortable when setting up the course. as the course progressed, and my understanding of the level of work needed improved, i found my confidence levels and subsequently my enjoyment of the course we’re both raised significantly.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • my course had a really good structure and organisation to it. the whole thing was split up into multiple sections that i worked through with booklets and online resources, and they were structured with clear and reachable deadlines for each one. i had dates set in my calendar for me to have completed them by and then i would love to the next one.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the support received from my training provider was also catered perfectly for me and fit seamlessly alongside the course. my coach answered any questions that i had about the course or anything that i was stuck on and explained some things that were worded in a fancy way. it really helped me towards my qualification as i always felt i had support and someone to turn to if i needed it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • with doing this course whilst working at the same time, i feel as thought it really did give me a large confidence boost within my role. i was able to simultaneously learn new skills and knowledge and put them into practice right away securing the remembrance of the new skill. it also gave me an insight into all the correct actions i should be taking in my day to day role and i was able to push myself to really perform correctly.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there are a couple things to get involved in at my job. every thursday we have a pub quiz on and we get many groups of people come in to participate. it’s always got 5 rounds and a music round. and for the winners we offer a free round of drinks. there is also a christmas coordinator for the employees to participate in. and they just have to really get christmas under control and manage all the bookings. they also get a bonus incentive for this.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Despite being a very large corporate business every individual here is treated as exactly that. The relationships we are able to build with colleagues tend to become long lasting friendships. The guidance we have had throughout these troubled times has given us a confidence in the management that money can’t buy. It is also important to note how good the financial benefits are however, there are more valuable things than money.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • firstly i would say i’d you are applying to a greene king pub, you should be prepared to push your confidence and watch it grow, to meet new customers that will become life long friends, and to learn and grow every day. greene king is a fantastic opportunity to not only grow as a person but also to increase your knowledge and also receive great rewards from the business to keep you there and for them to thank you for your hard work.
