  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I started course during the first coronavirus lockdown. A lot of the course was conducted over Microsoft teams and emails. The life time training were great and helped with all of technical problems, they were very supportive and encouraged us instead of pushing us. Once reopening it was easier to provide evidence for health and safety and other sections of the course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • All of the module were available to read and what we needed to complete. The webinar classes helped us understand what was required. There is lots of resources to help you through the course. The life time portal was great at keeping personal accounts. We had all dates for webinars as soon as we were accepted on to course and one to one talks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Life time training were very supportive and gave workable deadlines for all modules. They were understanding if you hadn’t manage to finish on the exact deadline, provided you had a reasonable explanation. It’s important to stay on top of any course but I feel that with the amount of resources you are provided with, it was easy to stay within deadlines.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It went in more depth of some of the roles and why we do them the way we do. It helped with understanding what kind of learner you are and what kind of manager you are. Gave you area to work on and meeting others, even on teams. I suppose you see that others in the same position may have the same struggles when leaving to be a better manager

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We don’t have extra-curricul activities to get involved in at my workplace. We try to have team parties to celebrate hard work, during covid this has become difficult. There is local award ceremonies we try to involved with. There are events that the team can get involved with now everything’s opening up a bit more.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have been with Greeneking since 2012. I started as front of house staff, bar tending and waitressing. I have watched the company evolve to where it has now and since unleashed was announced it makes me excited for it future and watch it evolve with the team and businesses.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Hospitality has always been hard work but the last two years coronavirus has made it even harder. It is worth it with the teams however. Encouraging and learning with each other. The business has great opportunities to progress to and beyond general Manager if you are willing to put in the hours and work.
