I am an apprentice at Saks Education doing level 2 hairdressing. I attend college once every fortnight. I would prefer training at my salon more than the academy.
Yes I have learnt a lot of new skills as I have never done hairdressing before so most of the time it is new knowledge.
I do enjoy my programme as I am always keen to learn more. I enjoy doing something new every so often.
My programme is organised at times. I am not guaranteed a mode when I visit the academy but it is good when I do have one as I can have my own time to my own client. It is quite a delayed start when you first get signed up as it gets delayed and put off for example if you’re in a busy salon then that is the priority. So i wouldn’t say it is that organised in the signing up part. Also it takes ages to receive your starter kit with all your equipment in.
I feel like I get the support I need when asked for it.
I receive some support for my training, also it is when asked. I ask for help and they give me it. I am quite independent and try and do the things that need singing off and then go from there by asking them to assess me on it.
I feel like my training provider was great during lockdown as we had weekly zoom calls and these were not missed. I felt like I had a lot of support during lockdown as work was kept on top of and I was learning quite a lot of theory work. I also learnt new things in practical.
Not that I am aware of.
Yes
It is a really good provider to be in.
To be independent and ask for help when you need it to stay up to date with work.
