  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a DevOps Engineer working within the Cloud Specializing in AWS. Day to day my role varies with tasks to complete and help for other colleagues. Each morning we'll have a daily standup to check that everyone's got some work to do and see if there's any blockers. Communication and teamwork is a central part to my role

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My networking skills and time management skills since joining the company have grown exponentially. Balancing a degree and full time degree can sound hard and challenging at first, but after the first few weeks it becomes the normal and can be managed with ease. Yes I have also developed my technical skills and grown as programmer, but the essentials would have to be my time management and networking

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I'm glad and feel so lucky that I'm in the position that I'm in due to the sheer number of applicants for the program and the pandemic which forced furlough onto a lot of people and or lost their jobs. The whole experience has been remote so far but definitely looking forward to getting into the office

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The schedule and routine is nice and is executed well. I have had a few issues with the college to no fault of their own, due to staff leaving and such. However the support that we've received has been exceptional, and they appreciate that we are apprentices and that we have to balance our responsibilities accordingly.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The atmosphere and the values that Accenture stand for are truly exceptional. I truly feel valued, not just a number. I have daily catch ups with my line manager, then monthly catch ups with both my Career counselor and the Apprentice leads to inform me of any updates within the company / program and just to check that I'm doing alright personally.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Within our program we are on day release on either a Friday / Monday. We have lectures during the day at the start of the semester with it tailing towards more workshop oriented / free sessions to work on assignments towards the end of a term. Again so that we can balance our responsibilities. Lecturers are also quick to respond to enquires and or asking for help outside of college lectures as well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I Think the qualifications that I receive are perfectly setting me up for the working world with relevant experience that I will need within the workplace, and or many other workplaces. Allowing us to develop real world practical skills, not just theory based reports that will probably never be used again past Higher Education.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Name an extra curricular activity and we most likely have a group for it or a day to go about doing that activity. If for some reason there isn't already an event or extra curricular activity that you would like to do, and you'd like to create your own group / activity, your more than encouraged to do that.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Accenture is an exceptional company all round. This was proven to me when starting my job with them. All the pandemic guidelines were up in the air, everyone was confused on what was happening yet Accenture pulled through and were consistent at delivering making sure we had the best entry to the company possible.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Be yourself. Don't try to be someone that your not. If your genuinely interested in Tech and you strive for creativity that's enough. Yes obviously prep for the interview and try your best, but Accenture recognizes someone with a creative spark, an eye for innovation and technological brilliance.
