  • Cable engineer at open reach driving vans that pull trailers and installing cables in the underground network

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I’ve learnt how to detect which cables are copper and which are fibre, how to safely work in a road using signing and lighting and how to open box lids with a gas detector

  • Really enjoy the programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it is structured well but we don’t really have a point of contact as of yet. I think this is down to the volume of apprentices coming through

  • Lots of support. I’d like to have just the one buddy though so they can monitor our work and keep u with what we have learnt and what we havent

  • Not started any support yet. Coming to the end of my buddying stage now

  • Great company to work for so far. Feel really looked after. Looking forward to getting my wage bumped up at the end of the apprenticeship
