  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Within my role I suppot the Commercial team by analysing trading performance of sales accounts, including pipeline and volume metrics. I also analyse the market and understand key influences/risks that may link to our customer base. I am responsible for the production of weekly reports and powerpoint decks, sent out to key stakeholders.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills since starting this apprenticeship as it was my first experience at taking on responsibilities in a working environment. One of the key skills that I have learnt is how to manage stakeholders. The apprenticeship has also allowed me to develop on existing skills, such as time management and using Excel

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed my experience so far as I have had countless opportunities to learn, develop my ability, and network with interesting people within the organisation. I have enjoyed the responsibility I have been given too. The management of the programme has also made the experience much more enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • At the beginning of my programme the Apprenticeship was not structured too well. However since then the organisation has improved drastically, with much more involvement from HR, an Apprentice-led community forum to raise concerns and general updates, as well as plenty of interactive courses being offered on a montly basis.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • All levels of support offered to me are of a high quality, and are always there if needed. Support offered is not just for workplace queries, too, with the employer taking a vested interest supporting mental health and happiness. I have never had a problem with the level of support I have recieved.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training providers offered excellent support on a regular basis. Support was offered in many ways, such as via email, on message forums, and even through interactive call sessions set up on a regular basis. The course tutors were always keen to help with any queries or questions we had.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • There are only a few things from my qualification that I can truly say have helped me in my workpalce role. This is primarily due to the technical nature of the course, yet the lack of a need to understand this technical side for my specific role. The knowledge does, however, lend a hand to some conversations, and make it easier to understand some of the challenges with our products.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Pre-covid, there were plenty of networking events offered to everyone. Typically being either coffee sessions before work, or drinks after, these networking events were held at many levels; you had the chance to make many new connections through close team events, wider team events, and even Apprenticeship focused events that were held.
