  • Having the qualification while doing my day-to-day role helps me work to the correct standards. things that I might have been unsure about or how to tackle usually appear during the programme so I am able to learn and understand what to do in those scenarios. it also gives me a better understanding about the overall industry as well.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am not too sure about extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. The main extra-curricular that I know of personally is live lectures around the industry. However I do know that the company provides it and I have access to them. I usually have other social activities I attend outside of work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think Openreach is a great company to work for because they are heavily focused on working safe so that you are able to get home safe. I also think that Openreach is a great company to work for because they allow their employees to progress in their career and get to choose which direction you want to go towards too.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • The main advice I would give to others is to be open minded about the job because there are so many transferrable skills with the company so there is always a role for someone. You just have to be open about what skill sets you already have and Openreach will give you the rest.
