  • Management of a team of 12 who schedule repairs for operatives. Monitoring subcontractor budget, complaints and other issues that might arise throughout the day. Coordinate collaborative working with other departments to ensure residents repair needs are being met.

  • Developed line management skills, set awareness, managing conflict, communication especially through the pandemic and working from home.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy being able to demonstrate that I am already doing things as I should be, applying a model or theory to the way I am working. Finding other ways to manage specific tasks. Learning new things that I don’t necessarily do now such as project and finance management.

  • I think it is structured well

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Whilst working from home the repairs team have continued to deliver a service. Finding time to carry out assignments isn’t always easy and the daily duties still need to be done so it has been a bit difficult at time to meet deadlines

  • Training provider is great, she is always available when I need her help.

  • I feel like it has empowered me to make decisions confidently, where I may have doubted myself before.

  • Yes

  • Optivo help develop staff and provide opportunities for training such as this programme.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Optivo?
  • To be able to demonstrate transferable skills even if no experience in role they are applying for. Optivo value people and teamwork, showing that you are a people person and customer focused is important.
