  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my job and the programme I was on. I started in 2018, however had to put it on hold due to having a baby. When I returned the process was good. I had to re start the NVQ, but this was a breeze due to the fantastic assessor and team support I had behind me.

  • It was very well structured. The only thing I would say I struggled with was the time to get photographic evidence due to COVID. But the company done amazing at helping me around this.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My nvq assessor was there at every call/email. Not only giving me help in explaining certain things but would video call and talk me through how to upload to my folder. He was down to earth, friendly and I really felt I could ask for help at any time necessary.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Knowing I have my qualification is satisfactory. It gives me the extra push to continue what I’m doing and only work forwards towards my personal goals. Doing all this with a baby and adapting my life has only been getting better. I thoroughly enjoy my job. I take pride in my work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not current but that’s due to COVID. We do have team Christmas parties etc.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I’ve recommended Openreach to a few friends whom all now have jobs within Openreach and are thriving. I couldn’t be prouder to call them my friends! It’s a fantastic company with a great support network. Every day is different in my role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • My tip would to be don’t stress yourself out. It’s a lot of information at first and nobody is expecting you to remember it all first time round. There is always someone at the end of the phone or round the corner to give you a helping hand. Don’t second guess yourself, 9/10 you are right. And certainly don’t over complicate the job. It’s only a pair of wires at the end of the day.
