  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily tasks includes: Raising internal orders, uploading operatives timesheets onto the financial system, submitting the operatives monthly overtime to the payroll team, uploading everyones sicknesses and absences onto the system, sending all team leaders internal order numbers to match onto timesheets, meeting minutes and creating ID cards for all staff members

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My role at Engie has taught me many new skills, such as: - How to use multiple different systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, WordPad). - Mandatory training has taught me about Health and Safety within a business and how to act and who to report to in an Emergency. (E.g. A fire or Unfair Misconduct).

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like my job because I feel confident within all of my tasks within my role and I like having a solid routine. My job has also taught me many new skills and helped my confidence as I am interacting with different professionals which has also improved my team working skills

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My organisation welcomed me with a warm induction and provided me with many different training programs before I started my permanent tasks. The training programs helped me get a better understanding and information about the business and what my role would include. I also have a monthly review with my line manager, this gives me the opportunity to speak about any concerns I may be having.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Organisation offers lots of support such as training videos, training meetings, 1 and 1 meetings and process maps. all these things contribute to my learning and reassure me when I have a question about a task. My manager also assures me that I can ask for help whenever i need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When my apprentice tutor sets me work, he goes through the questions thoroughly and allows me to take notes that are helpful to look back on whilst completing the work. He also allows me to ask any questions that i may have before the meeting regarding my work. My tutor also recommends useful training videos and websites which are a big help towards my written work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i do feel like my qualification helps me expand my knowledge in my role and helps me practice what i learn on a day to day basis however some aspects of my qualification doesn't apply to what i do on a day to day basis and sometimes it can be hard to balance apprentice work with everyday work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • the social value department within my organisation is always looking for volunteers within the office to get involved in all kinds of activities, such as: - Charity Football. - Dragon Boat. - Charity Runs. - Tree planting. My organisation also does other charity volunteering events that the operatives get involve in such as building furniture and painting for the less able.

  • Yes

  • i would recommend engie to a friend because there is a lot of support in terms of training and reassurance within the work and also the staff members are really nice and supportive to new employees. Engie also has many opportunities and advantages such as different levels of apprenticeships and traineeships which allow you to grow your skills and move up in the business.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • i would advise a friend applying to Engie to approach the interview in the correct manner by being professional and polite. i would also advise them to approach the job with an open mind as there are a broad amount of tasks within the office that may be overwhelming at first but with the right training videos and assistance, tasks are easy to get the hang of
