  • My role is to provide customers with new fibre optic internet. Day to day I am either climbing poles or going underground and pulling new cables to customers houses and then fitting the internal work for them

  • Yes I have learnt a lot about fibre optics and increased my DIY skills

  • I enjoy the freedom, the variety of tasks and the different people you meet on a daily basic

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel like the structure is good in the fact of what they teach us but the organisation of it needs re-evaluating. It seems to be rushed and sometimes backwards in the timings that they teach you specific things

  • A lot! I could not fault the team I have around me and the knowledge and willing to help they have provided me with

  • A lot. The trainers really do help you and notice when you are struggling

  • Again a lot! Without the training I have received I honestly would not have a clue what to do

  • Not that I am aware of yet but due to COVID-19 this could be the reason

  • It’s a fun challenging job that you are always learning from


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Ask lots of questions and don’t be afraid to ask “the stupid question”. We’ve all been there and everyone is willing to help
