My main role is to shadow and work alongside people who are currently in the role that I will hopefully going into later on at the end of my apprenticeship. While doing this I have to try to take in all the information that they explain to me or by just observing what they are doing throughout the job.
Throughout this apprenticeship I having been learning as I go along. Through the first year I developed a variety of different skills such as electronics work, mechanical and many more. This process gave me the base knowledge in these tasks. Then I went out on placement and further developed my skills.
When going through this apprenticeship I have experienced many different situations. For example I think they do not have the organizational skills and facilities to house the amount of apprentices they take on through the different years this shows when many apprentices are in pointless placements that have nothing to do with the job role the we should be exiting into.

When going through the apprenticeship at the start the support from the employer was abysmal there was no real organization and anything you would try to get support for would get ignored and there was no real attempt to listen to any of the apprentices. However improvements have been made to give more support but still not the best.
The training provider is Birmingham college the current teacher we have is unbelievable is work rate, commitment and determination to the cause of our learning is second to none. I think that teaching provided by Birmingham college (BMET) is not really related in anyway to the work that is involved in my role for example I do not need to use trigonometry, on something such as a light guard. Also I will not need to use calculus while working on the human machine interface.
During this work there has been no real options to take part in any extra curricular activities other than things such as the mountain challenge, that are not great. However I have formed my own 5 a side football team from work employees off my own back as the company does not really offer much.
Yes
The wage from the job is very good as they pay well for the actual job you do. In addition to this the benefits that come with the job are great such as the variety of company cars that are available, however they are becoming overpriced and I cannot get the 5 series I wanted anymore, also when I could i did not have massage seats.
The process is rather long get some experience in the work experience if you can before coming also complete some of the small tasks that are involved when doing the tests also make sure you are competent in the maths that gets asked to be completed and do not cheat on any tests.
