  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well, organised college and study time as well as internal formal training. I have access to leadership as well every month if not more

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, although it is tough to work full time (normally I do 1-2 hours over time every day which adds up when you are expected to study after work).

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Yes a lot. The 24 hour helpline is very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • To a certain extent. I work in tax so the tax exams help a lot more than the management/auditing stuff but I still like to know these things as it gives me an idea of the sector I work in and the qualification I will get will open lots of doors. However I don't appreciate that we have to do things like English and Maths when I have an a level in these subjects and a degree. It seems a bit pointless and just wastes my time.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes a lot. I do a lot of volunteering helping social mobility and disadvantaged young people get into graduate schemes/apprenticeships like mine which is very rewarding. There is something for everyone - lots of religious networking groups, sports groups, interest groups (e.g. climate/sustainability).

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Looks great on your resume, get a great qualification out of it, lots of opportunities to prove yourself and develop new skills. it's hard work but it will be worth it in the end.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Practice for the tests they make you do and make sure that you practice before the test centre day - don't sit there quietly but don't talk over other people easy. They just want to see that you are a normal person who can work in a team but is still confident.
