  • Installing fibre on new customer premises. Driving and climbing is also a large part.

  • I've learnt about the Fibre network and how it's installed and delivered to customers.

  • I love the programme and hope to go further and upskill when complete.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Due to COVID it's been quite badly organised with people off sick etc but these things can't be helped in the current climate so overall it's been good but could be better.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is in abundance whether it's from colleagues or the services that are offered.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The NVQ side is limited to the course providers and being all virtual it could be better as I'm an in person learner. In regards to the on the job training there's loads of help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Barely at all. The qualification isn't really involved in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a few things like gamers and whatnot but as I'm more active they're limited in COVID times.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great place to work. Large company and even if you hate your role can sidestep into so many areas.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • The application process is the most difficult part, stick at it and you're on to an amazing role.
