  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a duty manager and I am in charge of the shift I have to monitor and assist all ground floor teams performance while on shift I assist guests and actively seek feedback from guests and use the feed back to learn and improve anticipating issues and resolving them effectively I am a premier inn expert with a sound knowledge of the hotel and local products and services in the area I make sure that I maximise revenue through up selling behaviour sharing best practice with the team also responsible for ensuring that all financial systems are adhered to by the team while on shift. Basically to make sure that the running of the shift is effective and smooth.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt new skills in reception area I have learnt more about how the business runs day to day I have learnt about swot analysis my self awareness my leadership strengths people planning and succession planning workforce planning recruitment and selection and legislation and also housekeeping area how to make the perfect room according to specification brand standard check mate for rooms and how to audit housekeeping department.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It is brilliant ?I have learnt so much through the apprenticeship course that it enables me to have more gained knowledge so I can implement at work it has given me more confidence to fulfil my daily tasks at work. I think apprenticeships are excellent and I really enjoy the level 4 program ??

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The level 4 apprenticeship is brilliant and very well organised and well structured and the teachers are brilliant ?the support from the teachers is excellent and very caring and I think the programme has helped me so much in the new gained knowledge of the business that I work in (Whitbread).so it has given me more confidence to fulfil my job at work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have excellent support from my management team at work they care about my well-being and I feel very valued. I have had lots of support with learning new things regarding my apprenticeship and I have been given lots of new challenges I am very lucky to have such excellent management and I feel very happy and proud to be part of the management team at Greenwich premier inn. ?

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have been given excellent support from my training provider I have learnt so much and have gained so much knowledge new knowledge from the training provider and it has given me so much confidence in my day to day activities at work. Very happy with the support that I get from my training provider ?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that it has helped me so much with new gained knowledge I am able to be more confident in my day to day tasks at work. I feel really happy that I am gaining so much new knowledge and am able to perform even better than before as I have a better understanding of the business.

  • Whitbread is a brilliant company to work for I am proud to be part of the Whitbread family.It is a company that care about their teams and their well-being, care about the guests ,and a company that look after the well being of the environment, also a company that offer excellent opportunities to study further example the apprenticeships which are brilliant ?. I have worked for the company for 8 years and 9 months and I am so happy with all the opportunities that I have been given working for Whitbread. I am so proud to be part of the Whitbread family.?

  • I highly recommend the company You should apply for whitbread it’s an excellent company to work for. you have many opportunities to study (apprenticeships) and progress when working for the company and it’s a company that look after their staff, guests and environment, you become part of an amazing family which I have always felt proud to be part of ?
