Being alert at all times due to the children. Always have to be concerned about anything bad that can happen. It involved building dens, being outdoors most of the time, we would learn how to cook and do lots of lovely fun things!
I gained more confidence with being so sociable, I feel like now I have been there and I know how to deal with the negatives and positives that came along side doing childcare. I gained skills in cooking. I gained skills in being active/social. I also think I became more dependent.
I really enjoyed the whole time I had spent with the children, at the start of the journey I was very wary of what could happen, I had many negative doubts about putting my life in charge of 3 little ones younger than me, in the end it all turned out amazing and I wouldn’t of changed anything if I could of! We were like a family by the end of the 2 years I had them, I now feel like I need to further my experience and move on to bigger things in life
My experience was quite organised most of the time, sometimes it was very difficult and frustrating because things would be all over the place but in the end things would be fine and would work out the way they were meant to
I learnt a lot on how to look after children and how to deal with them in all sorts of different ways as all children are different, you can’t always give them the same treatment because some children may need different standards that need to be reached to know how to deal with a certain child, I think working in a childcare based programme you have to be in the right mind set to do so and to know how to be around certain individuals. There is a lot to do and remember while working in a childcare bubble so you need to be ALERT and on the go at all times, it’s a very tiring job but I love it and I bet so many others do too!
This helped me gain a lot of experience which being sociable, I learnt how to look after children on a daily basis. However doing that for 2 years does get a little bit boring so now I am wanting to further my experience weather or not that’s with children, I will take any opportunity that comes my way
Yes I was paid a weekly wage of £100
No, it wasn’t a business I worked for. I done childcare for a lady at her house.
Yes
Surprisingly, We are still in touch and I have known her family for most of my childhood.
Make sure your not someone who gets angry quickly, children do and will test you! Be happy and bubbly. make conversation. Don’t make any of the individuals feel left out. They love being outdoors. places such as woods, they love that! So much to do like build dens, play hide and seek, make it fun for them! It’s when they get bored they play up.
