  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot, not only has this career path opened a lot of doors for my future but I also feel a lot more confident in myself and my future career. I enjoy the people I work with and I enjoy my day to day duties within the office. I am looking at maybe taking another apprenticeship on another time in the near future within engie too. I enjoy the confidence I have gained.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is organized and structured well, especially with covid-19 hitting us while I was studying my apprenticeship, the college have done an amazing job carrying on with online lessons even when I was furloughed, they also now offer one to one sessions for any extra help and lessons that you might need. With my company staying open during this second lockdown it is a lot easier to maintain my workload and complete work from the office rather than struggling from home.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive all the support I need from my employer, whenever I am given a task that I am unsure about I am taught what to do to an extent that I can fully understand it and feel confident to take the task on by myself. When I first started here all my training was given to me until I fully understood what I had to do and felt comfortable enough to do so on my own. The support from my employees during this tough time is also amazing and i cant thank them enough.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • At the start of my apprenticeship I was receiving a lot of support from the college, however when covid first first the support went down hill, i started to struggle a little but the support soon picked back up and now i am comfortable and confident in passing my course, the only thing i wish for is more communication from the college as i rarely hear from them and when i do its only in meeting and classes.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like after all the training I have received I have a lot of knowledge behind me to push myself forward in my course and I am now comfortable and confident to finish my qualifications with the knowledge from all the training behind me. I am always open to learn new things and am always asking for new training courses to help me more with my qualification and to help me gain more confidence so that when i finish my course I can confidently continue working within the company.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Before covid-19 we used to do a lot of fundraising activities with the local communities, this could be cake sales, breakfast morning, activates and games for the local community to bring children to so they can meet their neighbours and the team who will be working on their house. But now that we are in a lockdown these things have stopped unfortunately. I hope that we can do these things again because they help with my customer care.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Equans to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • There are so many doors that could be opened for you at engie, they are supporting to their students and they are always willing to help you achieve your goals, They work as a team and have good communication skills meaning the work gets done with ease. I would recommend engie also because I have had such a good experience here and it is the only job i've never felt confidence and comfortable in. I am very happy.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • Be yourself, be confident and calm. Talk about all the opportunities you are excited to take while working with engie, talk about your skills and any experience you have had working in this sort of environment. Talk about how you are happy to take an apprenticeship as they are always willing to help you through education to make your career a better and more secure one. I am more than happy to continue working at engie.
