  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At Accenture, i have carried out two roles - one as a junior software engineer focusing on both front and back end software. I am currently working with recruitment and HR as a Newcastle and tech regional scheduler. This holds big responsibilities and ensures that we look after the welfare of our bench.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt multiple new skills. I am now proficient in different coding languages, i feel much more confident when communicating to large groups or clients etc. I also feel like i have developed multiple business skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as e get coverage of multiple different aspects ranging from security, project management, development and it has also given me exposure to a range of different programming languages.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme is well structured and follows a simple timeline. Deadlines are never too pushed and always achievable

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a great deal of support from my employer to ensure that i am getting the most out of my university degree and my job role. We have regular one to ones with our career counselors to air any concerns or achievements and regular meetings with out college advisors/ tutors to ensure that we are confident and comfortable with project work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider always keeps us up to date, communicates tasks well, ensures we are confident and comfortable with course content and communicates with students indivdually to ensure they can air any problems.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has given my technical knowledge and exposure that i have been able to implement in side of desk work and my previous role as a software developer. I have also learnt about business and project management which has given me a great deal of knowledge and experience for my current job role, and in return i can utilize my hands on experience for University work.

  • Yes to all. We have many sporting, social, volunteering and training events/opportunities at Accenture.
