  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I complete financial services, resource management and account management. To do this i use multiple tools such as Microsoft Excel. This one is especially helpful for my financial work as i can use different formulas to work out totals for invoices and time sheets etc. I have regular contact with multiple clients and internal Accenture employees as my role requires a lot of communication to ensure that documents and reports are being sent out on time.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i have learnt many different skills throughout the apprenticeship. I can now use microsoft office far better than i originally could and have learnt many new formulas and techniques in Excel like vlookup. I have also learnt coding techniques that i could never do beforehand in many languages such as Java and C#, C++

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have been enjoying what i do over the last 3 years. Now that my degree work is coming to an end, i have more time to work on my actual project. I'm enjoying the chance to take on more work and responsibility, it means that i can speak to a wider range of stakeholders and have greater involvement with the client.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship is organised well. We have people we can go to with any issues and they are always able to find a solution due to the different networks they have open to deal with problems. The general 'maintenance' of the program is also good as there are many opportunities for us to improve.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good amount of support from both the employees who look over the apprenticeship as well as those who work more closely with me like my managers and career counselor. I know who i can go to if i ever have any issues and i know that my issues will be met with solutions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider does provide good support when i go and ask for it myself. However, i would say that the general support could be better as we did not receive enough online lectures during the pandemic. Just lots of Powerpoints and mini tasks to complete during the usual lecture times.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role isn't too relevant when it comes to the work which i complete during my Uni time. Although i believe that if i ever need to change roles then i will have a good base of knowledge to move into different areas within the company. My qualification is definitely relevant to my company's work as a whole.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are many events and activities which i can get involved in within my work. There are things such as recurring football events, events for newer joiners to learn more about the company, upskilling opportunities and more. These are found through emails and calls and there are many available.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because i think Accenture has offered me many opportunities to grow. Also, the opportunity of gaining corporate experience alongside gaining a level six degree qualification all whilst getting paid is a great opportunity for anyone. The company also has many amazing people running improvements and this means new things are always popping up to get involved in.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • I would say that they should put work into their interview process to come across as somebody who can work well in a team and can speak openly about what they're good at. I would also tell them that it is worth it to go through the apprenticeship program to have the opportunity to qualify and grow in experience at the same time.
