  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am on a Functional Test area within my IT apprenticeship and this involves me on a day to day basis being responsible for the project that I have been assigned. For example, I am assigned on a project and I have to make sure I deliver the testing for this project. So I am expected to make a test design based on what I am testing have meetings with the client and test the area I am needed to and get in touch with build if I come across a problem with the code.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have earned Distinctions in the college area so far and I am now studying to get my foundation degree that comes with the apprenticeship. I have learned to become more confident in a professional work place and I have learned so much that has new systems and expanded me IT knowledge.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy working with this company as everyone within the company is friendly and welcoming. I have made new work friends here and I am proud to be apart of the company I work in, Accenture value their staff a lot.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Accenture?
  • I feel that I am very valued by Accenture as there are a lot of benefits with working here such as gym membership becoming cheaper and health benefits and so on. Furthermore, there are events to be able to socialise with other Accenture staff and there are opportunties for me to be involved in volunteer tasks where we are going to schools to tell people about Accenture and my experience with being an Apprenticeship here.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There are a lot of training and support with this apprenticeship scheme as there are several people i can contact, including an apprenticeship lead Accenture have in place. It is structured so there is 1 year of college learning then 2 years of University learning, with having Uni/College 1 day a week and workplace work 4 days a week.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a lot of support as there are many people I can contact with problems.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my team lead and line manager if needed, and I know I can contact HR team with no hesitations at all if I have problems regarding that. The people that support me are very willing to help and friendly.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As we have a salary increase within the 2nd year, the salary package does meet a good need.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes as Accenture hold events with all staff to socialise and there have been opportunities to tell others outside of work about me apprenticeship experience which i found fun and interesting. We get assigned 3 charity/volunteer days every holiday year also to get involved with helpful activities. I didn't have much of a routine when i wasn't working, and I love routine.

  • No


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a brilliant opportunity to expand IT knowledge and you get fantastic qualifications out of it along with the experience on the job! It is extremely beneficial


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Be prepared for the assessment day, show that you are keen and have excellent communication skills, use your experience similar to the role, put everything into it as you get what you put into your time here!
