  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Hybird app developer for mobile applications. This means that I develop applications across different platforms of tablets and phone such as iOS, android, blackberry etc. I speak to the product owner of the apps every day in conference calls to discuss what i will be completing during the working week and this is all done internally. I have recently just finished my first app and I am now currently working on a new project which looks really exciting and the app is starting to take shape really well.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since day one of my apprenticeship at Accenture I have never stopped learning. I learn things everyday at Accenture and it is so refreshing that this is possible. Before i started my apprenticeshipo i was unable to do any coding whatsoever and now i have just finished my first app and now currently working on one.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is one of the best apprenticeship programmes I have ever seen to be honest. The work is very professional and it is challenging so it automatically makes me want to do it to the best of my ability. The team that I am on (Mobility|Hybrid) is a fantastic junior team with heaps of knowledge into the development of Hybrid apps. The culture of Accenture is very important to the company and they execute it brilliantly, no one in the company, no matter how high up they are, is better than anyone else. This makes Accenture a very humble place to work.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme is ran very well. To start the scheme off we did a months 'Boot Camp' training in order to help us gain a little bit of key knowledge before we were thrown into the deep end into our roles outside of Boot camp. There is always constant support networks running through the company so that i am able to ask nearly everyone for support on matters and they will be there to help me if i did so.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Thus far at Accenture i am glad to say that i have not encountered any problems as of yet so this is a positive thing. Because of this i have not needed any support to be honest. However, i have been reassured that if i did find myself in a situation in which i needed support then it would always be there.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am always receiving support from my manager as he wants to help me grow as much as possible as an employee. If i am struggling with a piece of work then i would ask him to help me and he would have no problem in doing so.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • At the moment, as i have not as much responsibility as i am going to have as i get older, my current pay package suffices. However as i get older i am naturally going to obtain more responsibility of things so it is good that i get a pay rise at the end of my first year.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are always emails coming my way to alert me about social events and all types of events outside of the work place. I have recently attended a comms event on friday with all of the NDC. It is good that there are opportunities to interact outside of work through work.

  • 9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend the apprenticeship programme to a friend because the skills that I have acquired so far and keep acquiring are invaluable. The ladder of progression at this company is very clear and hard work is all it takes in order to be succesful within Accenture.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Just be confident and make sure that you stand out from the others and offer something that they cant. This will help your chances greatly. Be persistent whilst applying for the scheme as this will reap rewards.
