  • As a maintenance apprentice our daily routines can vary, depending on the how the line(s) is running. some days are busy, some are not so busy; other times we are asked to work on projects such as commissioning new machines or robots.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, over the last three years i have learnt a lot of new engineering skills and knowledge.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like working at Hams Hall, it is fun and we learn something new everyday.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, our college has state of the art equipment and top class lecturers. Our NVQ assessor is very helpful and our manager is helpful too.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Whenever we need help, we can always ask, we never feel uncomfortable asking for advice or a helping hand.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Plenty, our college lecturers always encourage us to email them an additional questions and our NVQ assessor is on site 3 days a week.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Our BTEC, NVQ and FD are all extremely relevant in our work place, as a culmination are perfect for our job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There's a "Mountain Challenge" each year, christmas do's, charity football tournaments, and a few more things.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because i enjoy my job, and i enjoy coming to work, most people cant/wont say that.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • Just be confident and do your best to impress, sell yourself in the interview.
