  • application support - mostly monitoring alerts and helping with user tickets.

  • I didn't have much technical knowledge before, so everything I've learnt about tech has been new.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • There were several issues with this apprenticeship, but attempts were made to correct them. I enjoyed elements of it but there needs to be an increase in support.

  • My Manager and team were very busy, so there were difficulties finding the balance.

  • they weren't great - a few of our training coaches quit.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • not all matched with my role so i havent used them, but they were useful information.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • A lot of attempts were made in the beginning to get apprentices integrated and networking with senior management and some colleagues.

  • 9a. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its a great company. My less-than-perfect experience as an apprentice wasn't unique, but others had great experience, it's just your luck of the draw with your team and their capacity to teach. It seems like a much more pleasant experience post-apprenticeship.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • interest/passion for your function will help you get more out of the experience; you have to prepared to be self-sufficient and willing to research/self-teach to get the best out of it.
