  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am responsible for making sure that i am shadowing the Maintenance workers in different areas around the plant. This is to make sure that I can see the process they use when thye come up to a fault and the methods they use to fix and prevent it from occuring again

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a range of different skill while being in the apprenticeship, especially from the firt year of theapprenticeship where i learnt a range of new skills. They always provide training so that i can learn new skills all the time and it is all provided by the company. I have learnt new skills in first aid that i did not know before.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program because the job role makes sure that i am constantly busy and never sat around bored. There can normally be something found for us to do to make sure that we are not wasting time by moving us around different areas where there are jobs to be done

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised well as they have a a plan set out for all the apprentices that they try and stick to, however sometimes the plans do not go as hoped for and due to there being a lot of apprentices sometimes things can get confused. They do work well to correct these problems

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my employers give me a lot of support making sure that there are reccuring meetings set up so that they can check up on how i am gettig along and make sure that i am having no problems. Also they are always contactable as their details are given to all apprentices so if needed they can be called

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the training provider provides so much help for all apprentices to help achieve the qualifications as they are always around at the training school to help with all the college work and they also help with work that needs to be done for the company. They give so many resource packs taht will assist with doing the work

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification that the training provider gives is helpful for the job role because they teach us certain knowledge that can assist with some of the certain areas. the company provides question packs that can be done to make sure that what is learnt is retained and correct and then these can be reffered back to at a later date

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The company provide some activities that can be done like sports activities however I personally don't see them advertised as much so i don't know how to take part and get involved. they have various different activities that i could take part in. Another thing is that some activities require people to be chosen.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great experience and they provide you with a great opportunity. They provide so many different trainig opportunities and various different skills that may not be needed for the job however even if after the apprenticeship is complete and you don't want to continue employment you can go anywhere else with these skills. You would have loads of support and help and will feel comfortable in the work area


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • to others that are applying for the same job role i would say that they need to make sure that they have confidence when coming into the job role and that they are willing to get involved with as many different opportunities as they possily can. As long as they are willing to try and they show enthusiasm they will have a good time with the company
