  • I help my team in with small task in order to learn about the business and to contribute I work in a team of 6 and I help answer emails or find answers to problems and where I can by talking to certain people or by fixing something where I am able

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of interpersonal skills and professionalism but also furthered my IT knowledge. I’ve had the chance to get quite a low level experience in the business and then my new team will be a higher level which will help with my more business skills and people

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love learning on the job it’s so interesting but I also love the break we get for when we go to university and it’s nice contrast. I’m very happy I chose this over university full time best choice as I am getting paid to learn and be better

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It’s quite well organised when the time comes however we often don’t know a lot before something happens We know when we are going to university and are designated study times etc we are still new and not much has happened in which I can assess this too much

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots and lots of support I never feel alone with all my different types of mentors and my peers I have an apprentice manager who is a senior member and I meet him weekly and he helps me if I’m ever stuck with anything and I have a buddy who’s one year older than me in the program

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A good amount they try and keep in contact with us. We have calls with them when we come back from uni and then we have email access which is quite reliable then we also have a frequent review with them in which they re assess the program and make changes

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Massively, I definitely see the cross over I remember seeing it from my first visit the knowledge is helpful and very relevant It’s helped because it’s provided me with relevant knowledge and the skills I need to progress within my career and help do an even better job as I’m more equipped.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have seen a few of my colleagues go to some they had a football match not that long ago but I didn’t go and there are charity days on Fridays where they sell stuff maybe food but I think events depend on where you are in the business

  • 9a. Would you recommend Santander to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Absolutely it’s a great place to work with very friendly staff and the work is interesting We have a new building soon which mean our facilities are upgraded but also there is so many roles within the bank there’s something for everyone I love working there very much


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Santander?
  • Be prepared, but don’t become a robot just know what you are talking about. I would say don’t act like your in a interview process act like you’re already at work that’s the best way to conduct yourself and shaking hand and eye contact are so important
