One a daily basis I have different activities given to me to complete at different time scales from multiple training booklets given to us from our line mangers which go into detail about the different elements we will need to know for the task or pieces we have to personally research. If we ever need any support with this we can ask our trainers who give us advice on how to complete a task.
I have learnt many new skills as I did not do electronics before hand as it goes from the very basics to more advanced skills as you progress through the apprenticeship. I am also getting the chance to getting the chance to develop my IT skills through a functional skills qualification.
I really enjoy the program as I have a really good team of people around me who take you for who you are and amazing line mangers who are always willing to listen to any problems which you may have going on which makes the whole thing 10 times better then it already is. The work given is also really fun to complete.
When it comes to what tasks which we are going to complete the organisation is fairly organised as to what we have to do and the components we need to use in order to complete this tasking. But, sometimes things could come in a bit faster after we have ran out of them.
There is a lot of support from the line mangers which are in place who carry out the training for us as you can talk to them about any issues that you may have and they will support you to the best of their ability and if not put you in the right direction tot get the support needed.
When working towards the qualification the training provider is very supportive as if there is any issues with college this is quickly intervened and dealt with in order to get the most out of the experience. That being said I do have to regularly chase about my functional skills at them moment.
The qualification which I being provided somewhat helps with my role as it provides some of the theory behind the tasks which are being completed but, I have found that through my time of the apprenticeship you actually learn more useful knowledge from the trainers then you do from the college qualification.
At the moment there a re limited extra-curricular activities which are provided through the apprentices activity group maybe airsoft one every three to four months but apart from this there is not much apart from the football on a Tuesday which an apprentice has set up on their own basis.
Yes
I would recommend it as there are many opportunities which can be found with in the apprentice and al the training that you require including function skills are provided for by the company as well as extra training needed to be used on site for various placements that you do.
Make sure to involve others and yourself in a team in everyday life and in a professional environment. Try your best at everything you do even if you don't get if 100% right to start with your efforts will still be appreciated by others and have a professional manner.
