1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Issue the release of shipments that are at port to be loaded to the relevant vessel. Running various reports ie inventory reports. Providing customs clearance so that shipments are not held up at port

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes many communication and IT skills are just some of which I have developed. As for skill I have learnt, it falls under IT but I have become comfortable with different SAP transactions.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

If I had to say from 1-10 it would be 7. My everyday work is enjoyable but I can sometimes find myself looking for extra work as I can have little to do. The college days are great and a unique way to learn.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

It's mixed. 1 to 1's can sometimes be missed but saying that I wouldn't always have something to ask/say. My rotation has been put on hold due to the corona virus so I am still in the same position I stated in.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

Plenty of support. Both on a personal and professional basis

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Plenty again. There's always regular communication

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

In terms of my current role it hasn't given me much help. Judging from other apprentices though it seems to give them good help so perhaps when eventually move role it will assist me

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes plenty, 5 a-side football is one I take part in

9a. Would you recommend GSK to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

It's a unique place of employment. I have worked in companies where you are just a number. In GSK you are made feel like you contribution is vital and the benefits they provide their employees are above and beyond what I have experienced before

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GSK?

Be yourself and be open. If it's for an apprenticeship they're not expecting a finished product.
