  • Depends on the department placement. Lots of project work and daily tasks to support operations. Understanding key aspects of how a business is run and how delivery is key to internal and external customers. Spending time in departments such as EHS, Planning, CapEx, Tooling, Maintenance, Supply chain, Procurement, AOS, Facilities and real estate

  • communication skills, teamwork, planning skills, collaboration, people management, time keeping skills, innovation and continuous improvement, financial capability skills, human resource skills, lean management and agile working skills, project management skills, IT and excel skills, understanding of business management and the number of departments to reach the end goal, leadership skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy this degree apprenticeship program as it allows me to gain on the job business skills and knowledge as well as getting paid to complete a business management degree. My communication hub has grown as I know who works in which department and where to go if problems arise, setting me apart from the rest.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organized as we get set objectives to met at the start of each academic and working year. A designated early careers team and manager is assigned to each cohort to support us throughout our apprenticeship. The degree and full time job is very manageable and allows us to learn.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my placement line managers as well as the early careers team and early careers manager. Everyone supports each other and senior managers realize the importance of the apprentices and support us all on our career journey, offering key advice and guiding us to a successful career.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our academic lecturers and program coordinators give us substantial guidance on completing our degree and support us through each assignment, allowing us to get the most out of each module we are undertaking at the time. Allowing us to balance work and academic life and understanding what we are learning and applying it in the workplace.

  • yes we have a sports and social club onsite which airbus employees can join and enjoy activities such as yoga, football, and the exclusive gym which we receive a discount on. we have gen-a which organizes different events for people who work at airbus allowing everyone to get together and enjoy activities

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Airbus to a friend, especially the degree apprenticeships as I get paid a good salary and get a degree paid for by my employer. The work aspect allows me to experience many departments and apply the academic degree to the work place, and vice versa. it is very good


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Airbus?
  • Understand what the company is about. e.g. where they operate, what products we make, who the key customers are and where each final assembly line is located. Understand our Airbus values and apply them to yourself by realizing your own skills and identifying how you can add value to the business
